Knight of the Week
Jason McCourty continues to get better and better. The Tennessee Titans third year cornerback had a huge week. McCourty finished with 14 tackles and one pass deflection to earn our Knight of the Week honors. Despite a big game from McCourty, the Titans lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 38-17.
Anthony Davis and the San Francisco 49ers topped Jeremy Zuttah and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 48-3 on Sunday. Both players started on their teams’ offensive lines. The 49ers are a surprising 4-1 this season.
The Oakland Raiders got a big win, toping the Houston Texans by a score of 25-20. Joe Porter played in a reserve role, recoding one special teams tackle for Oakland.
It looked as though the New York Jets avoided New England cornerback Devin McCourty on Sunday. McCourty recorded just two tackles in the Patriots 31-20 victory.
Jamaal Westerman had a nice game for New York in the loss. New York has been using Westerman as some what of a pass rushing specialist. He recorded his first two-sack game this week and also recorded another tackle.
Brian Leonard got one carry for four yards and caught one pass for 10 yards to help the Cincinnati Bengals defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars, 30-20. Clark Harris handled the long snapping duties for Cincinnati.
The Indianapolis Colts fell to 0-5 on the year after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 28-24. Rookie Joe Lefeged returned one kickoff for 18 yards. He also recorded two assists in the loss.
Ray Rice (Baltimore) and Gary Gibson (St. Louis) were on their bye week.
Courtney Greene (Jacksonville) was inactive.
Kevin Haslam (Jaguars), Gary Brackett & Eric Foster (Colts) and Kenny Britt (Titans) are on injured reserve while George Johnson (Buccaneers), Howard Barbieri (Texans), Kevin Brock (Raiders), Ryan D’Imperio (Vikings), Alex Silvestro (Patriots), and Brandon Bing (Bills) are being used on practice squads.
