RU Interested In Cinjun Erskine

Barnegat HS QB Cinjun Erskine
Even before the start of his sophomore season, Barnegat High School quarterback Cinjun Erskine found himself on the Scarlet Knights’ radar. The Holy Spirit transfer has a host of top programs after him but RU has made quite an impression on him early on in the process.
“I like everything, coach flood has done a great job and they’re on their way to becoming one of the best programs in the country. Going to the Big Ten is great and they’re going in the right direction,” said the 6-foot-2, 205 pound sophomore.
In addition to Rutgers, Erskine has also had coaches from Temple, North Carolina, Duke, and Old Dominion visit his high school. Ohio State, Penn State, Miami, and Syracuse have also sent feelers his way and they are expected to ramp up their pursuit as Erskine approaches his junior season. However, the appeal of Rutgers in conjunction with their offensive system might make them the best fit of all.
“My high school, we run a multiple spread so we can run the triple option out of it and we do a lot read option stuff which is fun as well. It fits my style because of my athleticism, I can run and I go out of pocket and make plays around the edge,” the signal caller said.
Erskine, who transferred from Holy Spirit, played in just five games last season for Barnegat. Despite that, he showed enough of his talent to entice college coaches from around the country.
“We ran the ball a little bit more than we did passing-wise because our line was huge. We were awesome on the line. I had 905 all -purpose yards and five or six touchdowns,” Erskine said.
Next season, one of Erskine’s top personal goals is to rack up a handful of college offers to help accelerate the recruiting process. With that kind of mentality, could we see Erskine commit to a school before his senior season?
“I could see that, absolutely. I really want to be committed to a school before my senior year because I’m graduating early. I’ll be graduating halfway through my senior year to do early admission.”
